This is a dry wine with medium plus acidity and high tannins. The SLV 2014 is a full-bodied wine for sure. Notes of black fruits, black cherry and chocolate all hit the palate beautifully to make for a real rich experience. There is a long finish with some minerality.

Overall Experience

Stags Leap Wine Cellars SLV 2014 is an excellent wine. Well balanced with some complexity and nice long finish to create a great drinking experience. We had this at our tasting in Napa as well as a dinner at Hakkasan in Miami paired with all sorts of savory Asian dishes.

Winemakers Tasting Notes

The 2014 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon offers generous aromas of cocoa powder, graphite, blackberry and baking spice. A broad, silky entry fills the mouth with dark berry fruit and dark chocolate flavors. The palate is rich and concentrated with round tannins that are present but enjoyable and inviting. The wines structured tannins, rich fruit, and pleasing minerality point to this wine’s ability to age.
