Aroma/Nose

The wine is clean with a medium intensity of aromas. The aromas consist of black fruits like blackberry, plum and cherry followed by oak like notes of vanilla and some earthy components. This wine is developing.

Taste/Palate

The palate follows pretty closely to the nose with a medium intensity and body. This wine is dry with medium tannins and acidity. Notes of the black fruits dominate and are really fruit forward. Blackberry, black plum and cherry resonate here. This is followed by earth and a long dark chocolate like finish.

Overall Experience

This Seleccion Especial Sardon de Duero has balance, complexity and length, which makes this a very good wine. This is for drinking now, but has potential for aging. We loved the vineyard tour at this winery and our host was enthusiastic and passionate about his trade.

Pairings

Food – Beef, Veal, Poultry

Cigar – Nub SumatraDavidoff 50th Anniversary

Winemakers Notes

Dark red colour with a clean, complex and fresh nose.
On the palate, it has an intense fruity touch, mainly of red fruits. Aged 16 months in French and American oak barrels, the wood infuses notes of cedar, pastry and dark roasting. It attacks the palate politely but firmly.
