Wine – The wine itself is a bright golden yellow.
Aroma/Nose
Heavy charred oak hits the nose initially then followed by a vanilla and peach with a touch of honey.
Texture/Body
Nice, dry yet creamy texture coats the palate followed by less of an acidic zing than their normal Chard.
Tasting
Vanilla and honey hit the palate then it moves into granny apple and honey like component. This wine stays mid palate and moves forward on the tongue.
Finish
The finish is a beautiful soft oak mixed with a peach and honey flavor.
Overall Experience
Overall, the Robert Mondavi Bourbon Barrel Aged Chardonnay has an added sweetness unlike the original chardonnay. This really mellows out the experience. I will say that I enjoyed this one more than this lines original Chardonnay.
