Aroma/Nose
The nose is clean with medium intensity aromas. Aromas consisting of fresh citrus, like lemon/lime, sweet honey and a bit of a green herbaceous note like fresh cut grass. I would say this wine is developing.
Taste/Palate
The Protea Chenin Blanc 2016 is dry with high acidity, medium body and pronounced intensity of flavors in the profile. Notes of citrus like lemon, lime and grapefruit hit the palate followed by juicy pear. There were also some floral components like blossom, herbaceous grass and a long mineral finish.
Overall Experience
This Protea Chenin Blanc 2016 had balance, complexity, intensity and length, which makes it an outstanding wine. This wine can be for drinking now, but suitable for further aging due to the high acidity and tertiary notes.

Winemakers Notes
The Protea Chenin Blanc is pale lemon in appearance. It shows aromas of fresh citrus fruit and honeysuckle. On the palate, you’ll find crisp citrus flavor with tangy lemon vibrancy that is matched by more of the nectarine and stone fruit fleshiness in the mouth. Lively with lovely light body and a gentle persistence.
