The wine is clean with pronounced notes of Citrus, Ripe Tropical Fruit and Herbals
The initial sips of this wine are light, crisp and reveal the ripe pineapple and mango flavors mixed with the slight tartness of lime. Some minerality. Great acidity to help define the flavors. Some herbal notes hit the palate but are light. Moderate alcohol. The motion on the palate begins in the back of the tongue and works its way forward to the front. This is a semi-dry wine.
A long mineral like flavor on the finish.
Overall, this Matua Sauvignon Blanc 2014 from Matua Wine is great for a hot day. The tropical fruit flavors really make this wine satisfying. A great wine for those looking to try Sauvignon Blanc’s. It is clean and refreshing to enjoy alone or with friends.
