Aroma/Nose
Nose comes off clean with medium intensity aromas. Aromas consist of black fruits such as black currant, blackberry and black cherry followed by some peppery notes. Secondary notes of cedar and vanilla are also detected along with a tertiary aroma of earth. I would say this wine is developing.
Taste/Palate
This is a dry wine with medium acidity and medium (+) tannins. It has medium (+) body with a medium flavor intensity. The flavor profile follows pretty closely to the nose and consists of black fruits like black currant, blackberry and black plum. There was definitely notes of spice in the form of pepper. The secondary notes of cedar were present along with some dark chocolate, which varied from the vanilla on the nose. There is a long earthy finish to this wine.
Overall Experience
This Luc Pirlet Corbieres 2016 had balance, complexity, and length however it lacked in the intensity department. Overall, it was a very good wine and I think a great value for the price. This wine is suitable to drink now but it shows signs for further aging.

Winemakers Notes
Corbieres, Languedoc, France- Rugged mountains and Mediterranean sun leave their mark on this ripe red. Spicy notes of black pepper and cooked cherries dominate the palate, while intense notes of white pepper, lilac and raspberry drift across the nose. A great pairing for grilled meats.
