Aroma/Nose
The nose is clean with pronounced citrus characteristics. Bright grapefruit and lemon with a subtle floral/green element in the mix as well.
Taste/Palate
The wine is dry on the palate with high acidity. Definitely a full body Sauvignon Blanc, which is unique in itself, that also has a creamier texture similar to a Chardonnay. The flavor profile consists of lively citrus, tropical fruits and cream. There is a long, oak finish to this wine.
Overall Experience
If you’re looking for something different, the Groth Sauvignon Blanc 2017 is definitely a must try. We thought this wine was outstanding. Boldly distinctive in flavors compared to most of the Sauvignon Blancs we’ve had in the past. The uniqueness is due to the sur lie aging and neutral oak maturation process. We highly suggest giving this a shot, especially if you’re a Chardonnay drinker. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Mark, our gracious host at Groth Vineyards & Winery, for the enlightening tasting experience and tour. You set the bar high! We had an awesome time!

Groth Vineyards Winemakers Tasting Notes
The bright citrus and tropical fruit flavors will be an excellent complement to most flaky white fish (Sole, Sablefish, etc.), but I just can’t shake the image of sitting on a tropical beach, eating fresh ceviche, and sipping on Sauvignon Blanc.” Cameron Parry, Director of Winegrowing
