The wine is clear and pale lemon in color.

Aroma/Nose

The nose is clean, with pronounced noted of blossom, grapefruit, lemon, peach, wet stone and a subtle petrol. I would say this wine is developing.

Taste/Palate

This is an off-dry wine with medium (+) acidity, low alcohol and medium body. The flavor profile is pronounced with notes of honeysuckle, blossom, lemon, wet stone minerality and petrol. This wine has a medium length finish.

Overall Experience

When it comes to the Gerd Anselmann Riesling Pfalz Kabinett 2016 I thought the fruit notes of citrus were really overpowering in this wine leaving it slightly unbalanced. The length could have also been a little longer. The flavor profile intensity levels and complexity were good in this wine. Overall this is a good wine that can be drank now but has potential for aging to let those petrol notes integrate a little better.

Winemakers Notes

Total Wine – Edesheim, Pfalz, Germany- 100% Riesling grown on a single vineyard in the Pfalz, one of Germany’s most exciting wine regions. Off-dry, crisp and zesty, with a lovely floral bouquet and a lively minerality balancing the vibrant citrus flavors. Enjoy with seafood, and spicy Asian fare.
