Aroma/Nose
The wine is clean with medium intensity aromas. The immediate aromas are of citrus fruits, melon and nectarine followed by sweet strawberries and fresh cut grass.
Taste/Palate
This is a dry wine with light to medium body. This wine also has high acidity to it. The flavor profile consists of bright citrus with grapefruit zest and melon initially tantalizing the palate. This is then followed by your traditional rosé flavor of red berries such as strawberry and raspberry. The finish is medium in length with a touch of crisp mineral. I let this sit for a bit to see if the rise in temperature would uncover any additional flavors and the finish changed over to a spicy oak. A nice variation to the ending.
Overall Experience
I thought the Belle Glos Rose 2017 was a solid rose wine. Plenty of complexity in the flavor profile to keep your interest during the drinking experience. I am a huge fan of this brands pinot noir and the rose did not disappoint. Certainly, a buy recommendation for a hot summer day this year. Enjoy!

Winemakers Tasting Notes
This is a bespoke rosé in that the Pinot Noir grapes were grown specifically with the intention of making a rosé wine. Pale pink with a copper hue, this wine has a classic “eye of the partridge” color. Citrus-driven aromas carry through to the palate. On entry, bright acidity and flavors of pink grapefruit and lemon zest enliven the orange creamsicle notes, while hints of dried apricot and sweet spice add complexity. The brightness verges on minerality, but there is so much weight that the richness balances out the firm acidity and carries the flavors of dried fruit through the long-lasting finish.
