Anne de K Riesling 2016
This is a wine review of an Anne De K Riesling produced by Anne de K. The vintage chosen for this review is the 2016. This riesling varietal is from Alsace, France with an alcohol content of 12% and price at $12.99 at Total Wine.
Appearance
This wine is clear and pale lemon in color.
Aroma/Nose
The wine is clean with medium intensity aromas. Aromas of honeysuckle and blossom hit the nose immediately followed by apple and wet stone minerality. I found this wine to be youthful.
Taste/Palate
This is a dry wine with high acidity and medium body. The flavor intensity is pronounced with notes of blossom, apple, lemon, lime and wet stone. I thought there were some slight tertiary notes of almond in there as well. This wine has a long finish.
Overall Experience
Anne de K Riesling 2016 has a good balance and complexity level that spanned to about 4-5 flavor clusters. The palate had a higher intensity level than the nose and finish was nice and long. I would call this an outstanding wine that is ready to drink now, but suitable for aging due to high acidity and that almond note I caught on the finish.
