Appearance
Bottle – The bottle is green with a multi colored bright mosaic-like label. You can’t miss it.
Wine – The wine is a light straw in color with a real greenish tint rim variation. (Stephanie cracked up because she thought the green was reflecting off my shirt, so I took off my shirt for this tasting. She wanted a picture, but my dad bod isn’t exactly in the best shape right now so I turned down the photo op. You’re welcome.)
Aroma/Nose
Begins with heavy citrus and some slight tropical notes. Some light stone.
Texture/Body
This wine has a fresh, light and crisp texture. It has a high acidity, which really brings out the notes on the palate.
Tasting/Palate
This is incredibly full of citrus type flavors. Lemon and lime kick this thing off and really hit the palate like a sour patch kid and make you wince. There is a stone like taste as well.
Finish
The finish is short, tart and mineral.
Overall
The citrus crushes the palate with this Prophecy Sauvignon Blanc. Stephanie absolutely loved it and I was indifferent just because I had a hard time getting past the overpowering lemon/lime flavors. It is definitely a hot day type of wine. Reminded me of a Leinenkugel Summer Shandy minus the bubbles.
Suggested Pairing
Food – Goat Cheese and Feta
Cigar – Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel Aged Maduro or Vegafina Nicaragua

Winemakers Tasting Notes
Prophecy Sauvignon Blanc showcases the best of New Zealand’s renowned Marlborough region. Aromas of grapefruit, lychee and lime zest lead to flavors of mandarin orange and green apple, followed by delicate notes of mineral and white tea.
