The bottle is dark with a beige label with black and dark red font. The wine is ruby red in color turning slightly lighter towards the rim.
Cherry and strawberry initially hit the nose followed by spice and smoke. A slight anise flavor is also noted.
The Ponzi Pinot Noir is light to medium bodied and dry. Light on the tannins. Texture is a little chalky.
Black cherry is the fruit that predominantly hits the palate. Some blackberry undertones are also present. There is a light anise note that sits in the palate after the fruit leaves. Before the finish some pepper lingers.
Relatively short finish of oak.
The Ponzi Tavola Pinot Noir from Ponzi Vineyards was a great choice for our Saturday night taste test. A variety of flavors in this wine making it complex enough to keep on sipping. A smooth enjoyable experience. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good Willamette Pinot Noir.

Winemakers Tasting Notes
This intensely perfumed nose gives hints of bay leaf, star anise, lavender, pomegranate and dried currant. The sweet entry to the vibrant palate leads to spiced cherry pie, lightly roasted coffee bean and finishes with soft tannins touched with orange zest.
