Aroma/Nose
Initial aromas of darker ripe fruits like blackberry or plum. Some spice on the nose as well as some oak.
Texture/Body
The wine is off dry with nice acidity. This is a real full-bodied Malbec.
Tasting/Palate
Immediately some tartness, spice and pepper come to the forefront. The oak is immediate and hits the back of your palate. Dark fruit such as blackberry and plum are present, but the pepper is the king of this wine. This wines motion on your palate hits the back and then works its way to the front.
Finish
This wine has a long lasting French oak finish with hints of marshmallow.
Overall Experience
Personally for me, I thought the pepper in this wine was awesome. A real bold Malbec. The fruitiness was great too, but the pepper was the highlight of the show. One of my favorite value Malbecs.
