Aroma of black currant, black berry, spice and oak.
Texture / Body
This wine is a medium bodied cab with high acidity and high tannins.
Taste / Palate
First, the palate gets blasted with black currant and blackberry then spice takes over. After a while, a chocolate note comes forward which was surprising, but very enjoyable. The finish was medium in length with flavors of oak.
Overall
The Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine both Stephanie and I really like to have with Sunday dinner. The flavor profile matches well with beef. It is a young wine so plenty of fruit forward flavors, but a nice touch of the spice and oak to balance it. I would suggest decanting for a little while before drinking.
Suggested Pairing
Food – Beef Stew (this particular dinner) – Mellowed down the acidity and brought out the fruit in the wine. Lamb, Poultry and Game meats.
Cigar – CAO Zocalo, Undercrown Dogma, Diamond Crown Maximus, Nestor Miranda Habano, Undercrown Maduro or My Father Cigars La Opulencia

Winemakers Tasting Notes
From its deep, inviting color to its enticing aromas of blackberry, currant and cocoa, this wine showcases what we love about great Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate, the lush fruit flavors are framed by rich tannins and hints of sweet oak and spice.
