Construction/Appearance:
This Tabernacle Havana Seed is a solid smoke to the touch. It is a rich coffee bean brown in color with minimal veins and invisible seams.
Pre-Light:
Aroma – Cedar and Spice
Type of Cut – Straight
Cold Draw – Cedar, Spice and Raisin
After Toast:
First Third – Heavy cedar and spice note start this off with a long lingering earth like finish. This settles in just as it started rich with the same profile. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.
Second Third – Cedar, spice and some coffee like notes show in this third with that toasty earth note sitting on the finish. Cigar is medium bodied in this third. The burn remains sharp and ash fell at the halfway point.
Final Third – Earth and spice pound the palate in this third in a really rich full way. The smoke is full bodied here on the finish. The burn remains sharp.
Suggested Pairing:
Scotch – Glenlivet Nadurra
Wine – Tenuta Di Renieri Chianti Classico
Overall Experience:
The Tabernacle Havana Seed is a great smoke experience starting off with that rich cedar, spice and earth that just continue to develop over the thirds. This cigar is not really that complex, but it was very pleasant to smoke as the profile really made you want to go in for the next draw. I think this one is going to become a staple for us here at T&V along with the original Tabernacle!
