Tobacco Blend – Nicaraguan, Honduras

Pricing – $6.75

Body – Medium +

Construction/Appearance:

This Ramon Bueso Olancho 2005 Reserva is a beautiful brown with a reddish clay tint. There are a few thicker veins and visible yet tight seams.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Cedar and Nuts

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Nuts

After Toast:

First Third – Cedar, wood, earth and leather all kick this cigar off. A subtle pepper on the retrohale. As the stick settles in the earth and leather really become the major players in the third with that subtle pepper still lingering on the finish. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – The earth and leather notes carry into this third as well as a nice dark coffee note on the finish. The burn remains sharp and ash falls at the 2.5 inch mark.

Final Third – The earth and leather carry here and the cedar comes back a bit during the finish along with that coffee note we saw in the 2ndthird. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Tenuta Di Renieri Chianti

Scotch – Aberfeldy 12

Overall Experience:

The Ramon Bueso Olancho 2005 Reserva is a good medium plus bodied cigar with loads of various flavors right out of the gate that eventually settle into earth, leather and coffee. This flavor profile is a quality experience. I would smoke again given the opportunity.
