Man O War Virtue
Manufacturer – AJ Fernandez Cigars
Size – Toro
Wrapper – Ecuador Connecticut
Tobacco Blend – Nicaraguan
Pricing – $7.60
Body – Mild
Construction/Appearance:
This is a light walnut colored leather with plentiful small veins and visible yet tight seams.
Pre-Light:
Aroma – Cream, Sweet Cedar, Nuts.
Type of Cut – Straight
Cold Draw – Cream, Nuts and Cedar
After Toast:
First Third – Cream and salted nut like notes really kick this off with a light coffee note on the finish. I get some steel / metal like notes here too but intermittently. The burn is wavy and ash fell at half an inch.
Second Third – The Cream, nuts and coffee notes all hang in there in this third with a very light white pepper. The burn turns sharp.
Final Third – Creamy nuts and cedar come forth in the final third of this cigar along with that salty note from earlier. The burn remains sharp.
Suggested Pairing:
Wine – Domaine Serene Evenstad Reserve
Bourbon – Bib & Tucker
Overall Experience:
This Man O War Virtue is everything you would expect from a Connecticut wrapper with the cream, nuts, coffee and cedar all rotating through the tasting experience. This was an easy mild smoke that is a perfect breakfast cigar with a cup of coffee in the morning. Definitely a perfect cigar for those just starting as it won’t over power.
