Cigar Review: La Aurora Cameroon

Basic Information:La Aurora Cameroon

Size – Churchill

Wrapper – Cameroon

Tobacco Blend – Dominican, Nicaraguan

Pricing – $5.45

Body – Medium

Construction/Appearance:

This La Aurora Cameroon is a nice milk chocolate in color with veins that are fine, but long on this cigar. The seams are tight.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Golden Raisin and Cedar

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Cedar and Raisin

After Toast:

First Third – Cedar and spice start this third with a light pepper tickling the back of your throat. A nice toasted salted caramel note lingers through the remainder of the third. The burn is sharp and ash fell at the inch mark.

Second Third – That toasted caramel note mixed with a nice vanilla here. Really fantastic flavor on the plate. The burn remains sharp.

Final Third – The toasted caramel and vanilla carry into this third with some spice kicking in with some oak notes. Great medium bodied smoke experience. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Groth Oakville Cabernet

Scotch – The Glenlivet 15

Overall Experience:

This La Aurora Cameroon was a nice medium bodied smoke experience right from the get go. The best part of the smoke is the transition into the 2nd third, where the toasted caramel note and vanilla really stole the show. I would smoke this again given the chance.
