Factory Smokes Sun Grown – Cigar Review

Factory Smokes Sun Grown

This is a cigar review of the Factory Smokes Sun Grown by Drew Estate Cigars. The size of this cigar is a robusto (5×50). The wrapper is a Sun Grown Habano and tobacco blend is from Indonesia and Nicaragua. This is a medium bodied smoke experience. The pricing of a bundle of 25 is $34.95! These were released in 2018 as Drew Estate entered the economy bundle game!

Construction/Appearance:

This Factory Smokes Sun Grown is a matte medium brown in color with some obvious veins and tight seams.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Wood, Spice

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Wood – Cedar

After Toast:

First Third – Wood and spice kick this smoke off with earth like finish. A roasted nut like note comes in halfway through this third with a light white pepper. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – The spice and wood notes carry into this third. A simple yet nice flavor profile. The burn remains sharp and ash falls at the halfway point of the cigar.

Final Third – The wood and spice continue into this third, but the finish turns to a damp earth note. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Johnnie Walker Black, Glenmorangie

Wine – Côtes de Provence Rosé

Overall Experience:

I must say for a less than $2.00 stick these Factory Smokes Sun Grown are worth their weight in gold! The smoke experience is a great yet simple smoke with a nice flavor profile that doesn’t break the budget. This is a perfect cigar for those looking to stock up their humidor, sharing with friends and gifts for beginners as they surely won’t disappoint. We have added them to our humidor for the day to day cigar fix! A truly great economy cigar.
