Eiroa Dark Natural
This is a cigar review of the Eiroa Dark Natural manufactured by Eiroa Cigars division of CLE Cigar Company. The size chosen for this review is the robusto. This cigar is composed of a Honduran Corojo wrapper followed by a Honduran blend of tobacco. This cigar is medium plus bodied and retails for around $12.75.
- Robusto – 5×50
- Toro – 6×54
- Gorda – 6×60
This Eiroa Dark is a nice natural tobacco leather brown in color with some evident veins and invisible seams. This cigar is triple banded with the first and second in a nice black and rose gold with the Eiroa logo and Eiroa Dark identifying the cigar. The third tissue paper foot cover like band.
Aromas of wood, cedar and molasses all radiate from the wrapper prior to light. We utilized the straight cut for this review, which produced a cold draw of sweet wood and a light molasses.
First Third – Sweet and salty nut notes followed by a spice and molasses like finish. Some earthy notes come out as well here towards the end of the third. The body is medium, burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.
Second Third – The sweetness remains but tones more into wood like notes with some spice and cedar undertones. The molasses like note thickens the finish up a bit on the palate. The body remains medium, burn sharp and ash falls at the halfway point.
Final Third – Sweet spice, earth and wood all grace the palate here on the finish with that molasses notes holding down the finish. The body is medium plus and burn remains sharp.
- Bourbons – Knob Creek
- Scotch – Glenmorangie
- Rum – Havana Club
- Wine – Chateau Haut Mirambet
This Eiroa Dark Natural is one of my favorite cigars of 2019 with the sweet and salty all balancing together perfectly through the smoking experience. Notes of molasses, wood, cedar, earth and nuts all create a phenomenal experience overall. I would highly recommend giving this one a try in your humidor.
