This cigar is double banded. The first band consisting of a black band with silver font and the second being copper. The cigar is reddish rich brown in color. It is really smooth to the touch, almost silky. There are minimal veins, seams and is finished with a double cap. A beautiful looking stick.

After Toast:

First third – Flavors of vanilla, nuts and toast are present with a slight pepper to begin this cigar. Burn is pristine. The ash is dark gray and flaky.

Second Third – A real leather note come out with vanilla. At the half way point, floral and citrus hit the palate slightly. Leather still dominant. Burn remains pristine. Ash fell off around 2.5 inches.

Final Third – Flavor profile does not change much with leather remaining the dominant flavor with slight vanilla, nuts and pepper kicking back in. A subtle cedar as you get towards the very end. Burn remained pristine.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Duckhorn The Discussion

Bourbon – Basil Hayden

Overall Experience:

The Davidoff Nicaragua was a rich full-bodied experience with a real masculine flavor profile. The leather flavor most beginners will probably not enjoy but as a cigar aficionado, I have a deep appreciation for a good leathery stick. Great product overall by Davidoff.
