Construction/Appearance:
This Tatuaje Skinny Monsters Wolf is a matte brown in color with a sand paper like texture. This cigar has a few visible veins and tight visible seams.
Pre-Light:
Aroma – Nuts
Type of Cut – Straight
Cold Draw – Nuts
After Toast:
First third – Salted Nuts, spice and white pepper kick off this cigar with a rich earthy finish. An oily note begins to show on the finish a few minutes in almost petrol like. The burn is sharp and ash fell at the end of the third.
Second Third – Rich Salted nuts and earth really hit the palate here with the white pepper subsiding to a minimal role in the flavor profile. An orange citrus like zing pings the palate intermittently in this third as well. The burn remains sharp.
Final Third – The salted nuts remain the prominent notes and the white pepper comes back strong to finish this out. The burn remains sharp.
Suggested Pairing:
Scotch – Aberfeldy
Wine – Abadia Retuerta Pagos
Overall Experience:
Overall this Tatuaje Skinny Monsters Wolf is a good cigar however I don’t think it is the best of the Monster series. There was not a ton of change during the transitions and once you identified the flavor profile it pretty much stuck around the entire time making this more of a consistent stick, where a lot of the other Monsters had multiple flavors changes in each of the thirds. I would definitely smoke again if in the mood for this profile.
