This cigar is a beautiful chocolate brown color with no veins and invisible seams. It is a solid stick packed tightly with no soft spots.

Aroma – Cedar and barnyard

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Cedar and Raisin

After Toast:

First Third – Cedar, wood and spice kick this off with a peppery finish. A sweet brûlée flavor shows up close to the end of this third right before the transition. A pleasant surprise before the second third.

Second Third – A nice caramel note comes in mixed with spice and a leather like finish. A very smooth transition. Mid way through the stick, an oaky note hits the palate with the spice. Really satisfying on the palate. Just great flavors thus far.

Final Third – The cedar and spice kick back in mixed with the wood. Towards the end, the spice kicks up a notch and so does the leathery flavor. A great way to leave a final impression.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Johnnie Walker Double Black

Wine – Jean Bouchard Chablis

Overall Experience:

This Oliva Serie V is a gem by Oliva Cigars. A beautiful complex flavor profile that is seriously pronounced. The twists and turns keep this cigar interesting from puff to puff. I highly recommend picking this up as a go to stick. The price point is a steal for the smoking experience that comes with it.
