First third – Notes of vanilla, cream and a subtle cedar kick off the first third. The burn is slightly wavy and the ash a medium gray in color.
Second Third – Cream continues its dominance with some cedar baked in the background. Nice nutty finish on this cigar that lingers on the palate long after the smoke is gone. Ash fell at the halfway point.
Final Third – Nutty notes become the star of the finale in this cigars story. The cream moves to the finish.
The Oliva Connecticut Reserve was a mild experience. I smoked this in dedication to the late Gilberto Oliva. The consistent flavor profile lends to those looking to get into cigars as well as aficionados who want something to set the tone for a day. Basic but distinguished flavor components make this incredibly enjoyable.
Cigar Aficionado – 88pts.
