Cigar Review: Nub Cameroon

Basic Information:

Name – Nub Cameroon

Manufacturer – Nub Cigars by Oliva Cigars

Size – 4×60

Wrapper – Cameroon

Tobacco Blend – Nicaragua

Pricing – $5.00

Body – Medium to Full

Construction/Appearance:

The Nub Cameroon has a rough light brown wrapper reminiscent of a brown paper lunch bag. This stick has some noticeable veins and tight seams with a double cap finish.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Cedar and Hay

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Hay and Cedar

After Toast:

First Half – Notes of roasted nuts, coffee and baking spice blend nicely to begin this smoke. This picks up to a wood-like note with the nutty flavors opening up a few minutes in. The burn was sharp and ash held through the half.

Final Half – Wood and nuts continue here and get really rich and heavy on the palate. The burn remained sharp and the ash fell around the 3-inch mark.

Suggested Pairing:

Whiskey – WhistlePig

Wine – Chandon Sweet Star

Overall Experience:

This Nub Cameroon was a good yet simple cigar with two real dominant flavors that were robust on the palate. Not my favorite from the Nub Cigars line as I think the Habano is the best of the lineup, but a good cigar nonetheless.
