Cigar Review: Nestor Miranda Connecticut

Basic Information:

Name – Nestor Miranda Connecticut

Producer – Miami Cigar and Company (Miami Cigars)

Size – Robosto

Wrapper – Ecuadorian Connecticut

Tobacco Blend – Nicaragua and Dominican

Pricing – $6.75

Body – Medium

The band is the standard Nestor Miranda black band with blue for the Connecticut variant. The cigar is a walnut tan color. It’s a delicate wrapper almost like a brown paper bag. An obvious vein or two showing through and visible but tight seams. This cigar is finished with a triple cap.

Aroma – Cedar and Barnyard

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Cedar and nutty notes.

After Toast:

First Third – A nice perfumed floral note along with a nutty profile begins this smoke. A touch of pepper hits the back of the throat as well. Few minutes in, a rich cedar with a twist of tang takes the stage. Burn is pristine even with a bay breeze. Ash fell at about ¾ an inch. Mild to medium bodied experience thus far.

Second Third – The transition moves to cedar and an herbal note making this really refreshing on the palate. The finish moves to a cream like note. The burn remains pristine.

Final Third – The cedar and perfumed floral notes come back to finish this cigar. Maintaining the mild to medium body through the entire stick. The burn finished pristine.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Mumm Rose Brut

Bourbon – Knob Creek

Overall Experience:

Overall,  the Nestor Miranda Connecticut from Miami Cigars is a nice mild to medium smoking experience to have with coffee as a breakfast stick. Not a real complex smoke by any means, but not too simple to the point where it’s boring.  Sat by the bay with the ladies in my life (wife and Stella) and enjoy all that nature has to offer by Biscayne Bay in Miami. If you see this cigar, pick it up.
