After Toast:

First Third – Sugar, wood and spice kick this smoke off finished with a white pepper note. The woody notes turn smoky and a cocoa note comes out toward the end of the third. The finish turns into peppered leather. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – The sugar and smoked wood notes continue here with a charred wood finish. The burn turns wavy and ash fell at the halfway point.

Final Third – Smoked wood, sweet cocoa and spice carry into this third. The burn remains wavy.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – La Crema Rosé

Scotch – Glenmorangie

Overall Experience:

This Nat Sherman Host Maduro is unique with the sugary note leading off the experience. The wood, cocoa and pepper give a nice consistency to the smoke. A good medium bodied experience for those not wanting something too strong, but not sacrifice flavor in the process.
