Construction/Appearance:

This cigar is milk chocolate in color with a few visible veins and seams.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Barnyard

Type of Cut – V Cut

Cold Draw – Cedar and Raisin

After Toast:

First Third – Floral, coffee and nuts are the predominant notes with a little pepper on the finish. A nice buttery chocolate notes comes out towards the middle of the third. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – The coffee, creamy nuts and floral notes carry into this third without much in terms of transition. The burn remains sharp and ash fell at the 2.5 inch mark.

Final Third – The coffee and spice kick up here with a nice oily leather note. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Terrazas de Los Andes Malbec

Scotch – Johnnie Walker Platinum

Overall Experience:

This Montecristo Crowned Heads is a phenomenal smoke that really hits home with the coffee, spice and leather. The complexity levels between the third really kept us entertained the entire time. I would recommend this to anyone from beginner to Aficionado.
