Basic Information:

Size – Toro

Wrapper – Nicaraguan Habano

Tobacco Blend – Nicaragua

Pricing – $5.23

The band is your typical Man O War branded with the spartan like logo in black, white, silver and red. The cigar is lighter brown in color with one big vein and tight seams. Finished with a double pigtail cap.

Aroma – Sweet cedar and nuts.

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Cedar and nuts.

After Toast:

First third – Nutty opening with some spice then earthy notes. Nice pepper on the retrohale. Later in this third a tangy cedar note came into the mix. Burn is tight, ash is dark gray fell off around the inch mark.

Second Third – Chocolate, cedar and earth begin this third off with the spice on the finish. Mid way through a major uptick in the earthy notes come onto the palate. Super rich. Burn is still tight.

Final Third – Earth and spice dominate this third with cedar playing in the background. The burn remained tight through the end.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Matua Rose  or  Emmolo Sauvignon Blanc – made this feel like a fruit and nut bar.

Bourbon – Knob Creek Rye

Overall Experience:

This Man O War Legend was full of chocolate and cedar notes, which is a personal favorite for me. Anytime you throw spice and earthy notes into that mix makes for a great experience. The price point is great on this for the experience you get, which is always a great combination.
