After Toast:
First Third – An espresso like note mixed with spice and a hint of pepper lead off this third. A nice earthy and leathery component begin about half way through this third and hits your palate like a dagger heavy on the center to back of the tongue. The leather backs down and cedar comes through towards the end of this third. Burn started a little wavy. Ash held through.
Second Third – The cedar, spice and espresso notes start this third with the earthy profile moving to the finish. An anise flavor shows up as well which is a great addition to the profile. The burn remained wavy. Ash fell at the mid-point of the cigar.
Final Third – The cedar, spice and earth really hold onto this third with not a ton happening on the transition. Love the flavors here so I’m happy they held!
Overall Experience:
This Macanudo Inspirado Red was a great new addition we were fortunate to get pre-release at the Big Smoke event in Miami. The profile had just enough to keep it interesting with a great combination of flavors. Try one of these when they hit the shelves!
