After Toast:

First Third – This smoke starts with some earth, pepper, spice and leather on the finish. A bold start! Few minutes into the smoke, a nutty note with some cedar and tea-like flavor enter the mix. Really impressed with the various flavors in such a short amount of time. The burn started wavy and ash is flaky but holding.

Second Third – Earth, spice, cedar and tea blend nicely together on the palate during this third. The burn remains wavy and ash fell at the 2.5-inch mark.

Final Third – The spice and cedar really come alive with now a caramel-like finish. A really great cigar that really simplified later in the smoking experience.

Suggested Pairing:

Bourbon – Basil Hayden

Wine – Luc Pirlet Corbieres

Overall Experience:

This La Hoja Reserva Limitada provides a stimulating experience for the palate. Tons of pronounced flavors to keep you entertained throughout the entire smoke. Overall, a must buy if you’re in the market for something special.
