Cigar Review: La Hoja Edicion Crema

Basic Information: La Hoja Edicion Crema

Manufacturer – La Hoja Cigars

Size –  Torpedo

Wrapper – Ecuadorian Habano

Tobacco Blend – Dominican and Nicaraguan

Pricing – $12.50

Body – Medium

Construction/Appearance:

The La Hoja Edicion Crema has a beautiful multi-brown coloring on this wrapper with minimal veins and a few visible but tight seams.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Cedar and Ginger Spice

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Gingerbread

After Toast:

First Third – Ginger and sweet spice really open up on the start with some undertones of cedar and nuts on the finish. A great start thus far! The burn is slightly wavy and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – Some tangy cedar mixed with gingerbread, spice and nuts on the transition here. The finish gets slightly earthy and leathery. The burn remains wavy and ash falls at the halfway point.

Final Third – The cedar and spice wrap up this smoke with a nice oiled leather finish. The burn remains slightly wavy.

Suggested Pairing:

Bourbon – Bulliet

Wine – Pardon & Fils Beaujolais Village

Overall Experience:

The ginger made this smoke a truly unique experience that we think is phenomenal. Absolutely loved the flavor profile this La Hoja Edicion Crema offers. If you can find it, we highly recommend you try it.
