The cigar is a nice milk chocolate color with some reddish hues. There is one vein that is very visible with some slightly uplifted seams and finished with a triple cap.
Aroma – Chocolate and Cedar
Type of Cut – Straight
Cold Draw – Chocolate Raisin
First Third – There is some cedar, spice and light pepper on the palate as initial flavors come right out of the gate. A few minutes in, a rich chocolate flavor enters on the finish. The burn is sharp and ash held up through this third.
Second Third – Cedar and spice continue with an earthy finish beginning to trump the chocolate flavor. The burn remains sharp and ash fell at the midpoint of the cigar.
Final Third – The chocolate notes mix with a tangy cedar and spice to finish up this stick. Burn remained sharp.
Bourbon – Angels Envy
This La Aurora ADN Dominicano was a good cigar with 3-4 consistent flavors that were really tasty on the palate. Not a ton in the transitions but the consistency was great throughout the entire smoking experience. I would recommend giving this one a try if you see it at your local store.
Cigar Aficionado – 90pts.
About La Aurora Cigars – Source – http://www.laaurora.com.do
La Aurora Cigars was founded on October 3rd, 1903 by Eduardo León Jimenes, a hard worker man who was son and grandson of tobacco growers, that, without neglecting his family tradition, decided to go a step further with the creation of a cigar brand which he intended to have a global dimension. The founder was then 18 years old, inherited some “tareas” of land and with a reduced roster of six employees, a great enthusiasm and much effort, began to build his dream. Today, more than 113 years later, La Aurora has a presence on the five continents and more than a thousand employees.
