Manufacturer – Xikar – HC Cigars

Size –  Robusto – Box Pressed

Wrapper – Habana 2000

Tobacco Blend – Hondura and Nicaragua

Pricing – $4.50

This HC Series Habano 2 is a box pressed smoke that is rich brown in color with minimal veins and seams.

Aroma – Cedar and Nuts

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Nuts and Chocolate

After Toast:

First Third – Oak, nuts and leather are the initial flavors to the start of this cigar. Pretty simple start here with medium body. The burn was wavy and ash held through the third.

Second Third – Oak and a spicy note come out in this third followed by that same leather finish. Body remains medium to medium (+) and ash falls at beginning of this third. The burn remains wavy.

Final Third – Nuts and spice are the main flavor characteristics here and the leather turns real hearty on the finish. The smoke is picking up strength on route to the finish.

Suggested Pairing:

Bourbon – Makers Mark

Wine – Trivento Malbec

Overall Experience:

For the price point, this HC Series Habano 2 is a good cigar. I don’t think it was anything crazy with the three main flavors remaining consistent throughout the smoke, but it was good nonetheless. Can’t beat it for $4.50.
