This Gurkha Raja has a medium reddish-brown wrapper and is rough to the touch. One bigger vein visible with tight and invisible seams.

After Toast:

First Third – This smoke starts with cedar, earth and pepper with a leathery finish. The burn is slightly wavy and ash fell at the inch mark.

Second Third – Cedar, spice, light pepper and leather are the primary notes in this third with the earthy tones bouncing in and out by the puff. The burn remains slightly wavy.

Final Third – Cedar and wood followed by spice with a leather finish. The pepper dies off here. The cigar gets a little muddy at the end with some bitterness to it. The burn remains slightly wavy.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Johnnie Walker Black

Wine – Chandon Etoile Rose

Overall Experience:

This Gurkha Raja is a decent cigar but not much going on in the transition department. It had very consistent flavors throughout the smoke – which can be both a good thing and bad thing depending on what you’re looking for. Was not a huge fan of the flavors muddled together in the end during the final third. However, I would smoke this again if it was available. Not a lot out there on this cigar to reference so hope this review is helpful for you.
