The cigar is milk chocolate in color with few veins and virtually no seams. Finished with a triple cap.

After Toast:

First third – A cocoa note kicks this off with some leather like notes mixed with baking spice. A slight pepper on the back but not harsh. The third finishes with a slight caramel note peeking out from behind the leather and cocoa. Burn started slightly wavy. Solid medium plus body. Ash is light gray with dark oil spots. Fell off at the 2-inch mark.

Second Third – Cocoa and a nutty note start this portion. Almost like a roasted chestnut. Heavy on the palate as the stick moves to a fuller body cigar. The leather picks back up and becomes more robust. Like the smell of an old worn oiled baseball glove. The taste you get as you try and tighten the laces to your hand with your teeth. Beautiful transition. Burn remained wavy.

Final Third – Leather and oak start this off with cocoa on the finish. Cigar continues to be full bodied throughout the end. Burn remained slightly wavy.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – La Crema Rose, Caymus Cabernet or Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon

Bourbon– Angels Envy Bourbon

Overall Experience:

The My Father Cigars La Opulencia is a complete full-bodied experience. Good consistent flavors primarily of leather and cocoa. Real rich smoke and flavor profile. Surely a must smoke for real aficionados out there.
