This cigar has a milk chocolate colored wrapper with a little sandpaper feel to the touch. One major vein running in a spiral pattern through the cigar with tight seams. This cigar is finished with a triple cap.

Aroma – Barnyard and Chocolate on the foot.

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw –  Chocolate and Raisin

After Toast:

First Third – Chocolate, hazelnut and spice mixed some herbaceous notes start this cigar. Once this settled in, all the flavors condensed into a really refreshing herbal note with earth and a leather finish. Great medium bodied start so far. Nice even burn. Ash fell off a little early but it was a bit windy today.

Second Third – This third picks up right where the last one left off. Still herbaceous mixed with leather. Very consistent thus far. Burn remained even.

Final Third – The flavor profile remained the same however the herbaceous notes got shorter and the leather flavor got longer. The leather lingered for a while on the finish. This moved to a fuller bodied smoke at this point.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Johnny Walker

Wine – Domaine Serene Evenstad

Overall Experience:

This EP Carrillo Elencos Acto Mayor by EP Carrillo Cigars is a nice medium plus bodied cigar experience. Lot of complexity in the first third.  Once those notes settled, it became simple, refreshing, but also savory at the same time. For the price point, I wished it stayed with the complexity of the first third but overall it was a good cigar.
