This is a beautiful milk chocolate colored stick with a few visible veins and tight seams. This cigar is finished with a triple cap.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Sweet Coffee notes

Cold Draw – Cedar, Brown Sugar and Molasses

After Toast:

First Third – Notes of wood and spice kick this off with a light peppery finish. A sweet molasses finish that lingers long after the smoke is gone. This flavor profile remains consistent through the third. Burn is sharp and ash held strong.

Second Third – The second third transitions to a smooth medium roasted coffee with a subtle the sweet molasses hanging on the finish. The burn remains sharp and the ash fell at the 3-inch mark.

Final Third – Notes of wood, primarily oak, mixed with spice (similar to the first third) begin the final third. The molasses finish is still present. Really nice profile to finish up the smoke. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Glenmorangie

Wine – Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec

Overall Experience:

Overall the EP Carrillo Core Plus Natural is a great cigar with strong flavor profile of wood, spice, coffee and molasses. Easy transitions keep the palate in a good place throughout the entire smoke. It’s a medium plus bodied smoke so it has some strength. Definitely an Aficionados cigar.
