The E.P. Carrillo is tan in color with some mid-sized veins and invisible seams. The wrapper is velvety to the touch. The cigar is finished with a triple cap.
Pre-Light:
Aroma – Sweet Cedar and Raisin

Cold Draw – Cedar, Raisin and Herbal
After Toast:
First third – Cream, cedar, light pepper and some spice come off immediately. Nice variety of flavors right out of the gate, which is always a great start. Sharp burn. Light gray ash.
Second Third – Cream, cedar and spice continue to steal the show with a subtle earthiness tone. At the half way point, the earth turns into a real dry leather like flavor. Burn remained sharp. Ash fell at the halfway point.
Final Third – The leather and cream finish this experience with a nice tangy cedar finish.
Suggested Pairing:
Bourbon – Rabbit Hole
Wine – Fire Road Sauvignon Blanc
Overall Experience:
This E.P Carrillo Especial is a great smoking experience with just the right amount of complexity to keep an aficionado interested. For the price point, the complexity is unmatched. An old buddy introduced me to these about 8 years ago and I grab one anytime I can.
Ratings:
