Size – Diadema

Wrapper – Ecuador Habano

Tobacco Blend – 6 3/4

Construction/Appearance:

This Davidoff 50th Anniversary has a smooth oily orange brown wrapper with minimal veins and visible but tight seams.

Pre-Light:

Aroma – Wood, Nuts, Leather

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Wood

After Toast:

First Third – Wood and Vanilla mixed with a nutty note kick this off followed by a peppery finish. A toasted caramel like note comes out a few minutes in followed by a leather like finish. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – Notes of wood, cedar, vanilla and caramel with some leather on the finish. The ash fell at the two- and half-inch mark. The burn is sharp.

Final Third – Wood, cedar, anise and leather pound the palate in this third to finish this off. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Abadia Retuerta Seleccion Especial

Bourbon – Woodford Reserve Double Oaked

Overall Experience:

I thought the complexity in this Davidoff 50th Anniversary was excellent with lots of different flavors entering and leaving the flavor profile throughout the entire experience. The price point is heavy however the experience isn’t that blow you away experience you would expect out of a cigar of this magnitude. I would smoke this again as I enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t pay the $36.00 per stick as there are others out there less expensive for similar experience.
