Construction/Appearance:
Cigar has a dark chocolate colored wrapped and a nice velvety feel to the touch. There are minimal veins and nearly invisible seams.
Pre-Light:
Aroma – Sweetness and Barnyard Hay
Type of Cut – Straight
Cold Draw – Smoke and Cedar
After Toast:
First Third – Rich coffee and spice lead this off with some cedar and pepper. Once this settles, the coffee picks up some chocolate and cream undertones. The finish is pure pepper. The burn is tight, and the ash fell right at the end of the third.
Second Third – Coffee and tangy cedar notes kick up a notch here with the pepper sitting on the finish. The chocolate becomes real pronounced around the mid point of the cigar. Burn remains sharp.
Final Third – Coffee, cream and cedar are on the transition. The flavor profile in this cigar holds through till the end here. The burn remained sharp.
Suggested Pairing:
Whiskey – Gentleman Jack
Wine – Pardon & Fils Beaujolais Village or Illumination Sauvignon Blanc
Overall Experience:
This Casa Fernandez Miami Aganorsa Leaf Maduro was a great cigar. The flavor profile was a pretty consistent one for the most part becoming more defined as the cigar progressed. Five flavors in the profile gives it a pretty nice complexity level to make this an enjoyable smoke. This is a must buy in our book.
