Cigar Review: CAO Esteli TAA Exclusive 2018

Basic Information: CAO Esteli TAA Exclusive 2018

Manufacturer – CAO Cigars

Size – Toro

Wrapper – Jalapa

Tobacco Blend – Nicaragua

Pricing – $9.00

Body –  Medium

The wrapper is a rich and oily dark brown with orange fire like hues present. There are very few veins and the seams are invisible.

Aroma – Cedar, Nuts and Raisin

Type of Cut – Straight

Cold Draw – Dried Apricot and Nuts

After Toast:

First Third –  Nuts and oiled leather notes kick this cigar off with a subtle herbaceous tea like note  on the finish. The leather quickly dissipates and turns into a nice chocolate like note. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – Deep cocoa flavors come out on this transition along with some cedar and that tea like note on the finish. The burn remains sharp and ash fell just before the midpoint of the smoke.

Final Third – This one gets earthy and woody on the transition followed by the cocoa  and tea. The leather like note comes back on the finish here a bit. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Scotch – Glenlivet 15

Wine – Anne de K Riesling

Overall Experience:

This CAO Esteli TAA Exclusive is a great smoke from start to finish. That tea like note throughout the stick really defines the whole experience. Since these are limited it may be a little difficult to find. I found them at Neptune Cigar in Miami.
