The packaging is a natural wood coffin with black font denoting Liberty and the star with 15 representing the 15 years of this blends release.
The band detail is phenomenal again with the star, liberty, flag and brand name.
The cigar is silky smooth. It is milk chocolate in color with virtually no veins. It is also triple capped.
Aroma – Sweet Cedar and Florals
Type of Cut – Straight cut
Cold Draw – Light Cedar, a slight vegetal component and raisin. Beautiful draw.
First Third – As we toast up, spice with a dry oak flavor mixed with rich espresso come forth. About five minutes into the cigar, a milky cocoa component reveals itself along with an amped up spice. Some black pepper blasts the palate on the finish. The burn is razor sharp. The ash is white and dense.
Second Third – During this transition, the cigar became spicy with the cocoa flavor still dominant. Toward the end of the third, it turned into a toasted oak and the pepper diminished. Burn remained razor sharp. The ash fell off around the half way point, which was about the 3-inch mark.
Final Third – This is where the cigar got incredibly interesting. It transitioned into a cherry cola taste then to roasted nuts and the pepper note kicked back in a bit. Toward the end of the cigar, it became real creamy with spice and espresso with a hint of mint.
A cigar of this magnitude, I rarely pair the first time I smoke it. Knowing this release is generally complex, it would take away from the full experience.
Overall, this new addition to the Camacho Liberty Series is a complex stick that takes you through a rainbow of flavors within an hour and half. It starts with one then it transitions to another and by the end you come full circle (like Bill Murray in Groundhogs day) with a little dessert mint to usher you to the finish. I genuinely look forward to this release every year, as it is always an incredible entirely new experience from Camacho. It is by far one of the best cigar releases of each summer.
