After Toast:
First Third – Rich dark chocolate, wood and black pepper pound the palate immediately following the light. Wood and a light cherry note mix in towards the end of the third followed by a light oily note. The burn is sharp and ash fell at the inch mark.
Second Third – Oak and chocolate take the stage here. A nice syrupy like note on the finish. The burn remains sharp.
Final Third – Wood, chocolate and spiced gumdrop like notes arrive in this third. An oiled leather note hits on the finish. The burn remains sharp.
Suggested Pairing:
Wine – Stags Leap Karia
Bourbon – Makers Mark
Overall Experience:
This Bellas Artes Maduro is a nice smoke compiling the chocolate, oak and spice into one succulent experience. This was a total medium bodied experience that never really wavered and is consistent as it gets.
