Construction/Appearance:
This Alec Bradley Black Market Illicit TAA Exclusive is matte brown in color and sandy to the touch. There are minimal veins and invisible seams.
Pre-Light:
Aroma – Chocolate and Hazelnut
Type of Cut – Straight
Cold Draw – Nuts and Chocolate
After Toast:
First Third – Initial notes of nuts mixed with spicy cedar and a caramel coffee like finish. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.
Second Third – Salted nuts, cocoa and spice hit this third followed by that rich coffee bean finish. A slight orange citrus comes into the mix which I thought was a refreshing touch. The burn remains sharp and ash fell at 2.25 inches.
Final Third – Cocoa and nuts are the primary flavors here followed by spice and caramel coffee like finish. The burn remains sharp.
Suggested Pairing:
Scotch – Aberfeldy 12
Wine – Côtes de Provence Rosé 2017
Overall Experience:
Overall, I thought this Alec Bradley Black Market Illicit TAA Exclusive was a good cigar. Not a ton of transitions within this smoke, but the flavor profile was incredibly pronounced and enjoyable with about 4 consistent flavors rotating through the entire experience.
