The Aging Room Solera Maduro is a nice dark chocolate in color with a toothy feel to the wrapper. There are some visible veins and lightly showing seams. This cigar is finished with a pig tail cap.

After Toast:

First Third – A nice sweeter spice, Chocolate and black pepper are what this start is all about. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – A darker fruit note similar to a black plum skin mixes in with the sweet spice, chocolate and black pepper here. The finish gets a bit earthy as well. The burn remains sharp and ash fell at the mid point of the cigar.

Final Third – The black fruit note really picks up in this third along with the spice and chocolate. Pepper also gets stronger near the end of the smoke as well. The burn remains sharp.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Domaine Carneros Avant Pinot Noir

Bourbon – Four Roses Single Barrel

Overall Experience:

This Aging Room Solera Maduro was a nice sweeter stick with the chocolate notes and spice really leading the way and a great dark fruit flavor hitting the middle third. A nice overall medium + bodied smoke experience. I thought this was one of the better ones of the Solera line by Aging Room!

Cigar Aficionado – 90pts.
