Beautiful light brown, oily wrapper on this cigar with minimal veins and invisible seams and finished with a double cap.

After Toast:

First Third – A nice cedar, pepper and light leather start this off. Combine those flavors and the cigar is real spicy. Bold beginning to start this smoke. Few minutes in, the light leather carries, but a creamy vanilla coffee note also enters the fold. Burn is perfect with a tight dense ash.

Second Third – The oily leather note picks up and vanilla coffee flavors carry over. The finish gets really earthy in this third. The burn remained perfect and ash fell at the mid way point of the cigar.

Final Third – The final third continues the consistent flavor profile of the previous third right down to the nub. The burn remained perfect.

Suggested Pairing:

Wine – Domaine Carneros Hyde Vineyard Merlot

Scotch – Macallan 12yr.

Overall Experience:

This Red Label Habano from 601 Cigars was a delightful treat on a Sunday afternoon. The flavor profile was pronounced and incredibly tasty on the palate. If you haven’t tried one of these look for them next time you go to your local humidor or order them from Neptune Cigar here.
