After Toast:

First Third – Toast, cream, grass and a vanilla on the finish start this off. A few minutes in it adds to the profile some earth and light spice notes as well. When you hit the Maduro wrapper I picked up notes of chocolate and cherry as well. Awesome start! The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.

Second Third – The cream and grassy notes carry into this third with a nice coffee note on the finish. The cherry chocolate note comes back into the rotation. The burn remains sharp and ash falls at the beginning of the third.

Final Third – The earth, cream and grass notes continue here followed by a roasted nut and light pepper finish. Toward the end a gumdrop like spice note hits the palate as a nice dessert like surprise! Phenomenal!

Suggested Pairing:

Whiskey – Middelton Rare

Wine – La Crema Pinot Noir Rosé

Overall Experience:

This Black Market Shamrock had a great deal of complexity for a mild to medium bodied smoke! Tons of different flavors stemming from the hybrid of the 3 wrappers all whirl around the palate in perfect sync. The final thirds grande finale with the spiced gum drop like note was absolutely unexpected and phenomenal! A perfect smoke for the Alec Bradley guys to celebrate another St. Patricks Day. Hopefully you can find one of the 500 boxes released in your brick and mortar to pick one up!
