This is a cigar review of an Arturo Fuente Hemingway Work of Art by Arturo Fuente Cigars. The size chosen for this review is a perfecto that is 4.875 x 60. The composition of this cigar consists of a Cameroon wrapper followed by a Dominican tobacco blend. This is a medium-bodied smoke that can be found at Holt’s Cigar for $9.10 for a single, $43.00 for a 5-pack and $203.95 for a box of 25 with free shipping!
Aromas of cedar, spice and brown sugar radiate from the wrapper. The type of cut used was the Xikar XO straight cut. The cold draw produces a light cedar note followed by spice.
First Third – Cedar, spice, earthy coffee and a brown sugar finish all delight the palate immediately upon roasting up the foot. As the cigar progresses the brown sugar note develops more into a primary feature that is absolutely delicious. The body is medium, burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.
Second Third – The brown-sugar-like note really takes the stage as the main act followed by a toasty earth-like finish with some spice on the back of the palate. Beautiful blend of flavor going on for this medium-bodied cigar. The burn remains sharp and ash holds through the third.
Final Third – The spice notes really do a complete take over here giving the final third of this smoke a gumdrop-like note on the palate. That toasted earth-like note comes back to solidify the finish. The body remains medium, burn sharp and ash falls right before the finish!
Scotch – Glenmorangie
Wine – Groth Oakville Cabernet
The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Work of Art was a really pleasant smoke experience with lots of nice flavors within the profile. The medium body is a perfect strength for this smoke as it doesn’t overpower, but lingers on the palate just enough to get you through to the next puff. We really enjoyed this cigar as it is one of the Fuente brand’s finest. For those of you looking to step your premium smoke game up a bit, this is the one.
