Alec Bradley Magic Toast
This is a cigar review of an Alec Bradley Magic Toast by Alec Bradley Cigars. This cigar is offered in Robusto, Toro and Gordo. The size chosen for this review is the robusto. The composition of this cigar is a Honduran wrapper followed by a Honduran and Nicaraguan blend in the filler. This is a medium bodied smoke that prices in around $8.50.
This cigar was introduced at IPCPR in 2018. The name Magic Toast is named after a drink that is passed around the Honduran tobacco fields. Alan Rubin came up with the name when they were visiting the tobacco field in the middle of the night and were toasted to the success of his companies future.
This Alec Bradley Superstition has a nice dark chocolate espresso bean marbling like color scheme with a few thick veins and visible seams.
Aromas of cedar and raisin radiate from the wrapper valiantly. We are using the Xikar XO staight cut for this review. The cold draw produces beautiful notes of chocolate and raisin.
First Third – Loads of natural tobacco and cedar notes kick this smoke off with a subtle spice and blast of pepper on the finish. A salty light caramel note also shows itself a few minutes in. Beautiful medium bodied smoke so far. The burn is sharp and ash holds through the third.
Second Third – Cedar and creamy caramel notes take the stage here in this third with a slight peppery tickle on the finish. Body remains medium. The burn remains sharp and ash fell at the halfway point.
Final Third – Cedar and spice finish this smoke off with the caramel moving back to the finish. The burn remains sharp.
Wine – Stags Leap Cellars Karia
Scotch – Johnnie Walker White Walker
This Alec Bradley Magic Toast is a great medium bodied smoke. The caramel note in this was phenomenal along with the cedar and spice. This smoke would be perfect for those moving from mild smokes into the medium style. This is a great new release by the Alec Bradley guys in 2018 and should definitely be tried.

A star in born.
Alec Bradley Magic Toast got its name on a night forever etched in my memory. That’s the night, I saw for myself, by flashlight, a crop that was beyond belief. Tobaccos I knew we would find a
special project for. Under the stars, we cracked open a bottle of very special whisky and proposed a toast to our future. Magic Toast was born that evening. Along with a ritual. Toast the end of this
cigar. Celebrate its beginning. And enjoy the magic!
